• Printer margins (VBA, Word 97)

I made a template with formfields in textboxes in the upper and lower right hand corner of the first page of a document. This printed fine on our HP laser printers. But now there are also several inkjet printers in use and they need a larger bottom margin, because only the upper 10% of the textbox at the bottom of the page is visible. Is it possible to determine the minimal bottom margin of the activ printer, using VBA (Word 97)? I cannot find any margin-prperties of the ActivPrinter object.

    Thanks,
    Jan

This kind of information is well hidden in the manufacturer’s driver files, I believe. There was a discussion earlier this year about extracting information using Windows API calls (API call – printer properties Duplexing +more). That should provides some help, but I don’t recall whether it actually worked out in the end.

        Thanks Jefferson.
I’ll give the API path a try.
