• Printer log files appearing in folders

Recently, we have started to see printer / spooler text/log type files appear on
the desktop or in the folder where the document/spreadsheet was open and printed
from. These small text files are named after the printer port (i.e. DOT4_001 or
IP_10.xx.xxx) and they keep appearing, and you have to manually delete them. The
files are empty/blank. There is no set pattern as to when they appear or not. And
they occur with directly attached printers as well as network printers (based on
    IP address of the printer).

Anyone else see this happen? Any potential fix?

This happens on Windows XP SP2 and SP3 computers.
