Whenever the DSL signal drops or I restart my router, any printers that are connected to the router become unusable but only under Vista – XP picks them up without problem. In the title bar of the printer status window, the name of the printer has ” – Offline” appended to it. The Printer frop-down menu does not show a check next to “Use Printer Offline”.In fact, when I check Use Printer Offline, the title shows that the printer is ” – Offline Offline”.
The only solution to this problem I have found is install a new instance of the printer and delete the “Offline” one and requeue the documents to be printed. It would be great if I could move the documents to the new printer. It would be superb if I could just flip the Offline/Online switch that Vista has somewhere …
Any solution ideas other than the brute-force method described above?
Thanks,
