    Hello all,

I have an application that does some printing. All but one of the reports prints normally. The one that doesn’t has a default printer that is not in the available printers list. The report can be seen in Preview mode and when you move the mouse over the print Icon, a non-existent printer displays. If you do a file print, this can be changed to print correctly, but will revert back to this non-existent printer when completed.

The printer that displays used to be a shared printer on another’s PC. That share was removed. This problem began when the client’s computer was swapped out for a newer model with newer Office products, i.e., 2K to XP. Any and all suggestions are greatly appreciated. TIA.

How about assigning a new default printer?

        Tried that, same results.

It sounds like that report has been configured to go to a specific printer (the one that isn’t there now), rather than the default printer.

That’s what I thought but I couldn’t find where that would be. Can you give me some assistance as to where to look. Thanks.

Open the report in design view.
              Select File | Page Setup…
              Activate the Page tab.
You can specify here whether you want to use the default system printer, or a specific printer.

That has been our workaround. After we print this report (a one page workorder) and return to find another to print, the original printer reappears when the mouse is moved over the print icon. So we have to File, Page Setup, Activate the Page tab and select the printer again.

Have you saved the report explicitly after changing the printer?

Thanks Hans, the explicit save did the trick.
