This is in responce to post from good looking guy with baseball cap and colorful tee shirt over weekend that must of gotten lost in the crash.

Would be interested in him posting again and any other responces for user options while in print preview without using MS Word Publish.

My operators use the following:

PRINT PREVIEW KEYBOARD SHORTCUTS

100% view, Use Arrow Keys to navigate Left, Right, Up and Down of current Report Page.

Z – Toggles between 100% View and Fit to Window View

While in Fit to Window View:

Down Arrow – Next Page
Up Arrow- Previous Page
End – End of Report
Home – Begin of Report

F5 – Enter Go To Page Number
S – Page Setup Dialog
P – Print Dialog
Shift+F10 – Print Preview Menu (right mouse click)
C – Close Print Preview Window

I’ll hazard a guess that you meant me and have poor eyesight.

I went through the cache on my computer and cannot retrieve the post; It’s in the history list but not available offline. Bad, since it took over an hour to compose interactively playing with Access, reading online help, searching MS, etc. [/whining] If anyone out there gets Access posts in e-mail, it’s the original Post #138141 “Keyboard shortcut for ‘next page’ in Preview? (2000/SR-1)” posted at 5/5/2002 12:10PM PDT. If you could post it I would be much obliged. [/groveling]

The bottom line was: PageDown doesn’t work to go to the next page when the document is at 100% zoom, and there does not appear to be any way to assign a keyboard shortcut to the button you click for next page in a preview window. Although I wouldn’t say that I’m desperate for a shortcut, it is a real chore to click that little triangle button.

First, thanks for finding the earlier posts. I was as frustrated as I sounded.

Second, I finally “get” Z DownArrow Z. Not bad, as having your right hand on the arrow keys is a good place for it. If I find anything better, I will post it.

Maybe the solution really is a bigger monitor?

Your only other option regarding those tiny little triangles may be to adjust your Windows Control Panel Display Properties settings for “Scrollbar” in the “Item” list on “Appearance” tab. For example, attached screen capture shows report navigation buttons after I changed Scrollbar size setting from 18 (default, I think) to 24 on 17″ monitor, 800 x 600 resolution. This setting affects both horizontal & vertical scrollbars. The navigation buttons for tables, queries, and forms are likewise affected. Of course, since all other programs will be affected by the Windows Display Properties settings, the oversized scrollbars may look goofy in other contexts outside of Access. For example, those similarly tiny worksheet navigation buttons in Excel are also affected by the scrollbar settings and look a whole lot bigger at 24 vice 18 (which may be desirable for same reason).

Thanks for that scroll bar suggestion. It works great!

My app needs 1024 screen resolution and I’ve gotten complaints about the “tiny triangles” also. Have gone so far as building navigation buttons in the footer to keep the complaints down, but your suggestion is elegant.
