I play an online game called Star Trek Fleet Command, and since their last update, I’m having issues with logging in, due  to the prime exe stalling. I’ve had, on more than one occasion lately, where  I have to uninstall/reinstall the game client , reboot my PC and I’ve been unable to get an answer from Scopely, who owns the game.

Any help with resolving this issue will be greatly appreciated !

    TIA, Seamus

Okay so this doesn’t look good.  Either it’s a file from IBM in which case I would reach out them or you may have malware on your system.  I would scan your computer with a deep Defender scan.

I’ve run chkdsk, mem test and a/v via  m/s defender , in online and offline modes, and found  no problems or issues. I’m going to try removing prime and seeing if that solves the issue. Thank you for responding so quickly !

I WILL respond if I resolve this issue or if I don’t .

I too play STFC and recently my game freezes with the error message “Prime.exe not responding”. I too have tried all the fixes from the internet – Malware scans, defender on/off line, chk memory etc. Nothing found. Did you ever find the solution ?

          Where is prime.exe?
Right click on it and select Properties > Details. Who is the manufacturer?
Select Digital Signatures. Who is the signer?

          cheers, Paul

Prime.exe is part of the Star Trek Fleet Command Game, it must install/activate whenever you start the game as I have not been unable to find it installed on my PC.  I have tried STFC’s “Repair” option but this did nothing to help. I then tried STFC own “uninstall” option and then reloaded the game. And this did nothing to solve the problem. However, I noted that the STFC’s owners Scopley’s main page did not disappear with the unstall and when I reloaded the game it me straight back to my account. So I am now thinking of totalling uninstalling ALL Scopley content and reloading. This will no doubt require me to go though the tuition segment of the game before I can switch accounts to my original. Wish me luck !

Prime.exe is flagged as Malware since there is a file like that targeting Crypto
