How does one turn off the preview page. Mine is not check or turned on but I have three columns being displayed in Outlook. The first is the navigation panes such as Inbox, the next column is a list of e-mail messages and the third a display of the e-mail message highlighted.

It shoUld be VIEW/ READING PANE/ OFF in the tp menu.

As Michael points out you are looking at the Reading Pane. There is also Autopreview, which works a little differently.
