I would like to prevent end users from copying text from my PowerPoint slides. I could probably discourage most attempts by saving the file as a *.pps for PowerPoint Show where it opens in Slide Show mode when they double-click the file. But if they start in PowerPoint and use File | Open, it would open to Slide Layout view.

I know that in Word they have a Protection tool that uses the Forms option to prevent copying, but I wasn’t sure how to do this in PowerPoint. Thanks!

You don’t mention which version of PowerPoint you are using – PowerPoint 2002 introduced password protection.

See Password protect a presentation for various options.

Thank you, Hans. I am using PowerPoint 2002 (Office XP). I’ll take a closer look at the link for additional suggestions.
