    Hello,

The “Hide Slide” option only works for the slideshow.
But for example a slide has an animation for viewing only & I don’t want to mention it on the Notes pages printouts, then how can I tell PPoint to ignore those respective slides?

    TIA,

    m.q.

When you go to File/Print, just make sure to deselect “print hidden slides.”

Try creating a Custom Show. Go to the menu Slide Show>Custom Shows… In the dialog that opens, choose “New” Then in the Define Custom Show dialog, name it “For printing” or whatever you want. The just move slides you want to print from the “Slides In Presentation” window on the left to the “Slides in Custom Show” window on the right. The next time you go to print, you will have the option of just choosing the custom show.

Custom show is also good when your presentation varies a little depending on the audience. You can have as many variations as you want and still just have one file. Instead of starting your show by clicking on the screen icon, choose Custom Shows as above, choose the version you want and click show.

Thanks. I discovered this by mistake (like all good discoveries) a few years back when I had five different versions of a HUGE presentation saved as five separate files with limited hard drive space. It was well after that I discovered the printing benefit. I hope it’s as useful to others as it has been to me.
