When I try to open a presentation created by a certain person who is using PowerPoint 2003, it opens the first slide, hesitates, and then crashes. Other people have no trouble opening the file, but I don’t know what version they are using. Does this sound familiar to anybody? Is there something I can do?

See PowerPoint crashes while opening certain presentations. It suggests that the author should change CMYK images to RGB in PowerPoint 2003; the presentation should then open correctly in earlier versions of PowerPoint.

      Michael,

I’d try what Hans suggested first. If the CMYK (cyan magenta yellow black) image is not the problem….

Then I’d check for ‘updates’ to your version of powerpoint.
On some versions of powerpoint you can just go to the ‘help’ menu and choose “check for updates”

      Cheers
