MS Office Outlook Web Access provided by MS Exchange Server 2003
I am new to OWA. Can an Outlook Express Address Book be exported to Outlook Web Access Contacts folder and subsequently kept up to date? Or perhaps this can be done some other way?

Patch reliability is unclear. Unless you have an immediate, pressing need to install a specific patch, don't do it. |

OWA doesn’t support importing files into or exporting files from the contacts folder (or any folder). You’ll need to do that in the Outlook client.
See Feature comparison between Outlook 2003 and Outlook Web Access 2003. Expand ‘Client Services’.
Outlook 2003 is a stand-alone application that is installed on a PC as part of Office 2003. Outlook connects to Exchange server via a LAN (local area network), or through a VPN (virtual private network over Internet).
Outlook Web Access is a web client, it runs in your browser (the premium version requires Internet Explorer); you can use it to read work e-mail when away from work.
Outlook has more features than Outlook Web Access. See the link in my previous reply.
Thank you again Hans,

Understood.

Also understood.

I had noted the differences.
I was made aware through a third party, who is an OWA user, that the OWA Contacts folder can be updated but how it is done the third party is unaware: hence my question. Perhaps the Exchange Server administrator has the facility to do so? I will ask him later.

You can add and remove individual contacts in OWA. You can also right-click the sender of an e-mail and select “Add to contacts” from the little popup menu. But you cannot perform a bulk import, as you can in the stand-alone Outlook application.
The Exchange admin maintains the global address list, a list of e-mail addresses shared by all users. When you click the Address Book button in OWA, you can select Global Address List or Contacts from the “Find names in” dropdown list.
