Among others , I have a myrealbox.com mail address that use with Outlook Office xp. I check the address with the POP connection. Lately, about ` of the time Outlooks d/l’s the mail I get an error message that says “…..pop connection limit for this server reached”

Is this message talking about the server at Myrealbox.com or does it refer to my ISP cable connection?

Without any other information, I’d suspect the server is hitting its maximum open connections. Could be a symptom of success or a denial of service attack. If the error message has any numeric codes in it, that might provide further clues.

      Hi Michael,

I also have been a long time user of MyRealBox, although I only ever use the Webmail interface. I haven’t experienced the problem you describe, although this may be to do with the times I access it being in Oz.

Just in case this is relevant and you haven’t been able to access the front page, here is the current notice:
      “Jan 11, 2004

      SERVICE UPDATE
The MyRealBox system is currently experiencing service interruptions.
We apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause. Novell engineering is currently working to resolve the situation.
Periodic outages will continue during the next 24 hours as issues are isolated and resolved.
Additional updates will be posted throughout the day as appropriate.”

      Hope this helps.

Thanks, Like you I have been very happy with MRB for quie some time but II hardly ever go to the web page. I’ll see what happens in the next few days.
I did check it (the web) out a while back and they do have a nice interface and they are ‘up’ most of the time.
If all else fails I guess I could dump the POP.

( I notice they do not accept new users , maybe they got TOO big! bummer

Thanks again for the heads up.

          HI Michael,

Novell do state that this is only a test site for their mail product and don’t guarantee availability. However my experience would indicate that MRB’s availability is at least as good as Hotmail. But then we are talking about Netware! duck

            Thanks for the reply,
MRB is back and running great again. I have been with them for about 2 years and for the most part they have been very reliable. Up most of the time with a test now and then.
