Here is a bit of poetical decapitation where the removal of the first letter, then the second, third and fourth in the three missing words, makes the meaning clear(ish):

The lilies on the bank are ?
While in our little bark we’re ?
Our course to favouring breezes ?
    Like birds upon the ?

With lily-pads the oars are ?
As eager hands the blossoms ?
Each shouts “Dull care away ?”
    And echo answers “?”

It seems to me a strange ?

No replies thus far, therefore a little push. The answer to the word for the third verse is caprice. Thank you.

As far as I’m concerned, it’s going to take more than a little push – I can’t even work out what or where the ‘three words’ are…

Sorry for the confusion, Leif. The question marks in the three verses are seeded from three different words. I’ve given the answer to the third verse – caprice> a price> price> rice. I hope that helps.
