• Pls Recom Free Password Manager

I’ve been using LastPass, even after the security breach, (I changed my master pw, etc.) but it has been acting weirdly of late. I’d like to switch to a free, but great, manager. Easy transferring from LastPass to the new one is a must for this old grannie. My phone and I don’t text so, multi-factor authentication by text doesn’t work for me. I use Firefox for my browser and Win10, 64 bit. Also, I don’t store my financial accounts in the manager. Thanks for your recommendations and tips to proceed.

For a free password manager, probably your best bet is Bitwarden The password manager trusted by millions | Bitwarden

Even the premium version is quite a bit cheaper than other paid-for password managers: Bitwarden Password Manager Pricing | Bitwarden

I would recommend exporting your Lastpass vault to a CSV file for safe keeping before you change your password manager:  How do I export stored data from LastPass as a generic CSV file? – LastPass Support but data can be imported directly from LastPass to Bitwarden or by using your exported CSV file from LastPass: Import Data from LastPass | Bitwarden Help Center

      Hope this helps.

I recently switched from LastPass to LogMeOnce because of the security breach. So far I am quite satisfied with LogMeOnce. It’s simple to get the hang of in little time. You can import your LastPass data directly into LogMeOnce. https://logmeonce.com/

They offer four plans, ranging from $0 a month to $4.99 a month. A comparison is here: https://logmeonce.com/pricing-and-comparison/ The free plan is “forever free on all devices with unlimited passwords, 2FA”.

Which one did you pick? And why?

Mr. Austin, and others interested, I chose BitWarden because of it’s high rating by dgc-art, Forbes, among other trustworthy sites. After a few days of using it, I wish I had switched earlier! BitWarden was easy to install, transfer LP data, and I really like it in action.

Thanks much. I’ve been using a different one for two decades, and I’ll be staying with it because I know it so well. But a while back I suggested LastPass to a friend, and later regretted it because LastPass is not easy to use.

Roboform. I picked it because it was the best available at the time. It still serves my needs because I know it well. But I won’t ever be uploading any of my sensitive credentials to anyone’s cloud site which is not in my absolute control. That includes Roboform. Who do I trust with my most sensitive data? Only myself.
