Playing two videos at the same time

I’m trying to play two videos at the same time on the same slide in powerpoint 2007. It plays one video then it plays the 2nd on after the first one is done. This is ok but I would like the videos to start at the same time and end at the same time. I click with previous on both of them but it still plays one first. Can powerpoint 2007 even do this?

I’m not a power point expert to say the least….but my guess is you would need a video editor or some other piece of software that will allow this.

I don’t know either but if it doesn’t there is a way with video editing software to create side by side videos by putting each on a different track and then using positioning and sizing so they are side by side (instead of one being on top of the other). The result is it looks like two videos are playing simultaneously but it’s really just one video which is compatible with many other programs.

Go to the animation pane and set it like this

If there are extra trigger animations you can delete them.

There may be a slight delay between the videos starting but they should basically play together

Is it also possible to see a powerpoint presentation playing on your projector while you are viewing a word document and the powerpoint on your laptop screen?

It might work if the projected show is playing in a window (not full screen). Otherwise you may need third party software eg PowerShow from OfficeOne to do this.
