I have been asked how to create a slide show with two ‘Masters’, which I do not think is possible.
Essentially I think what is required is to run a second presentation called from P1.

A hyperlink will do the trick.

Is there an equivalent to the PlayList feature. I dont think a custom show is the answer because all slides are in the one presentation still therefore inherit the attributes of the slide master.

I dont think that formatting the colour scheme etc on a slide by slide basis is the answer either.

All thoughts are welcome

Good morning from the UK.
If I understand the question correctly, you are asking if it’s possible to link to another file (presentation) which has different colouring/formatting etc.
This is very easy. One way is to create a third presentation which introduces the two others and hyperlink the introduction text to the files. You do this by selecting the text and Insert | Hyperlink and then browse for the file. In the target presentation, you insert a hyperlink back to where you’ve come from on the last slide.
An alternative is to insert an Action button (Drawing toolbar, Autoshapes | Action Buttons and use one of those.) into the existing presentations.
If you don’t want the audience to know you are hyperlinking out, you can use text or create an object, assign the hyperlink to it but make it trigger on Mouse Over (you’ll see this option when you create an action button and are presented with the options – alternatively get there from Tools | Action Settings) where you only have to hover the mouse over the item for the action to trigger. If you use existing text on the slide, there’s nothing extra to do, but if you use an object to trigger the mouse over hyperlink you can also make it invisible (no line, no fill)

Depending on how many slides there are in that “second” show, you can:

Create a temporary PP file and create your unique background there. Go to notepage view where you can see the small slide icon in the corner. Select and copy this image.

Go back to your original presentation, Paste the image, stretch it to fit, send it to back. You will have to do this on every slide, so your file will grow some. This isn’t the greatest solution, but I’ve used it for 10-20 slides without issue.
