I have a fairly complex spreadsheet that utilises pivot table subtotals. The problem is that I only want to display the subtotal in a section where there is more than one entry. Is there a way that this can be achieved?

I have attached a simple example spreadsheet – the pivot table is in the sheet called Pivot (say what you see!!) and you will see that even though there is only one item listed for the months of April and June, that the subtotal appears and I really don;t need it! The display for May is fine since there is more than one item to be totalled. Anyone have any ideas how I can go about this?

    Thanks in advance.

What you want is not possible, as far as I know. Sorry!

How about adding a intermediate column to filter out the rows to hide (see attached)…

      Absolutely Stunning!

I didn’t think that it would be possible to do this within the Pivot table itself and I thought that it may need a solution that was slightly off the wall. It works perfectly – however one wee thing…ideally I would want the True/False column to be hidden and for the filter to automatically update as the pivot updates. Its not a biggie, but would just be the icing on the cake..

Thanks again – you’re an absolute star!
