      Dear Paddydive:

      Welcome to the lounge.

Pivot Tables are great for numeric or dates but are bad with strings.

Before getting a Pivot Table, I think the use of the functions CountIF and SumIF could get the results you desire.

See the attached workbook. This is just a sample. The formulas could be placed anywhere you want in a spreadsheet and if needed some type of Filter or Auto Filer could be used to create custom reports.

      Good Luck

        Hi Duthiet,

I have already done this with Sumproduct formula. Just wanted to know if there is any option in pivot table to do this. Bcoz the user who is going to use this sheet is not conferable with excel formulas.

        Thanks for your help.

      Dear Paddydive:

Your orignal post failed to provide the desired results. In addition for each row in the data is it always Yes or No?

For maximum assistance by the entire lounge it is usually best to provide an attachement with a small example of the clean data and a sample of what the desired report or results should be for the project. By clean data I mean is non-confidential information data that presents the various fields within the data.

Hopefully this is what you want. I have often used pivot tables to count yesses and noes or Trues and Falses.
