Hi,
I tried a search on this forum but couldn’t find anything. If someone can suggest what search criteria to use, if this problem has been discussed before, then I’ll do my own search.
Yesterday when working with a dataset, I created several pivot tables in one file. I saved the file then went home. When I came in this morning, I noticed that a subfolder had been created in the directory where I stored the file. I opened the file and created a further pivot table. When I clicked on the worksheet of one of the pivot tables I created yesterday and tried to change the layout a window popped up that said ” This pivot table report is not valid”.
The subfolder contains
cachedata.xml
editdata.mso
filelist.xml
sheet001.htm (through to sheet007)
stylesheet.css
tabstrip.htm
When I tried to open one of the Excel files in the folder it said the file was already open and if I continued it could corrupt my data.
I also noticed that one other spreadsheet in the directory also had a subfolder created.
This has never happened to me before and I am wondering if it has to do with my excel data files. The files in the folder are extracts from an online database that exports the data to excel. The data is from a new system that has been implemented in my workplace and I need to start working with the data and setting up reports for other people.
Thanks for any help with this problem
