I often use an OLE viewer I developed using tips from various posts on Woody’s Watch. This has worked perfectly. I have invoices that now need to be viewed and the detail isn’t clear using the OLE viewer. I have file names of the invoices (jpg files) in a table and I figured the Windows Picture and Fax Viewer is the best way to go since the images come up very clear.
Is there a way to embed the Windows and Fax Viewer in a form or is it best to simply open the jpg invoice in the viewer? I like the idea of embedding it because I could then use the form to scroll through specific jpg files without having to open and close the viewer. If that’s not possible, how can I launch the Windows and Fax Veiwer and open the specific file from my form? Is there another approach that would be better?
    Thanks!!

I don’t know of a way to embed the Picture and Fax viewer in a form; moreover, your database would become very dependent on the operating system (older Windows versions don’t have it, if I remember correctly).
You can use Application.FollowHyperlink or ShellExecute (search for it in this forum if necessary) to open the images in whatever application is associated with .jpg files.

I thought the embedding would have problems but wanted to be certain. I used the ShellExecute and it worked great. Thanks for the help Hans!!!
