Photoshop Elements 8

Have been using this software just for a few days so very much a novice. However, maybe someone can help me with the following:

I am downloading camera pics using the PSE8 settings but dispite having set everything I can find to ‘only download new pic and ignore pics that are already on hard disc’ I end up with all the pics downloaded! Obviously I can unclick, prior to download, those pics that are repeats but this should not be necessary.
Can anyone advise me where I may be going wrong in my PSE8 set up?

Hey Ron,

I don’t use Elements 8 and don’t use Elements 7 to import all my photos, so I can’t answer your question directly. But I was curious about your question and Googled up this page of video tutorials for Elements 8.

Thanks Doc … got the sucker! I had clicked a very confusing box in the set up for downloading using PSE8.
Mind you … all of this PSE8 gets to be confusing but I am a fast learner!

Glad you figured it out.

All the things you can do with PSE can make it a bit confusing, but once you get the basics down you can move ahead pretty quickly with a bit of trial and error and tutorials.

I’ve been fooling with Photoshop for almost 7 years and PSE 7 for 3 or 4 years and still have a lot to learn about both.

Keeps the brain from going rusty! Seems a great software though and worth occupying some of my limited ‘brain software’.
