Photo Editor malfunction for a non-privlaged user

TECHNET ARTICLE # Q260151 gives a fix – but this does not work. The fix simplified; Go Into REGEDT32 and goto HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESoftware Microsoft Shared Tools
Use Security menu >Permissions >User >Full control

Any Help Would greatly be appreciated.

We found that we needed to install Service Pack 2 for Office2000 to get Photo Editor to work as we needed. We were having Photo Editor print errors, and SP2 fixed it for us:

Thanks – However SP2 is damaging to Outlook 2000 with respect to attachments not opening and is irrepairable in that respect. Outlook 2000 is required so this cannot unfortunately be utilized at this time in our department. Thanks for your quick response.

Well, we decided to bite that bullet and deal with the Outlook Attachment problems, just to get the benefits of SP2. We’ve been teaching our users to ZIP files instead of sending ones with the prohibited extensions (EXE, COM, URL, etc). It hasn’t been that bad to support.

We are looking forward to Outlook 2002, where you can disable/edit the prohibited extensions on the client.
