Peer to peer networking (Win XP Home/Win XP Pro)

I have been trying for sometime to set up a peer to peer network at home with desktop, running XPHome, and my laptop, running XP Pro. I do seem to be able to get the macjines to recognise each other. At one stage I was able to use my Satnet internet connection from my laptop and print, but this has fallen of now.

I have followed all the instructions provided in XP Help to set up a home network. I have even tried runnihng thru a hub.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Install NetBEUI protocol on both machines.

And did you turn OFF the MS Firewall that is on by default?
