I am looking for a software that converts PDF to CSV file format

I have a PDF file that is downloaded each month from a supplier , but need it to be in CSV format as the CSV file needs to be uploaded in a program that extracts certain fields from the csv file

I would like the PDF data to be converted to CSF format on one sheet

It would be appreciated if someone can recommend suitable software to be able to do this efficiently

I can’t see how you can do this automatically as the PDF format doesn’t define which bit you want as CSV. What you can do is open the PDF in a PDF reader / Word / OpenOffice / LibreOffice and extract the data manually, if, and only if, the PDF is NOT published as an image. If the PDF is in a consistent format you could probably write a macro to extract the data, copy it to a spreadsheet and save as CSV. To test if this is possible, open the PDF in a PDF reader and try to select the text / data, then copy and paste into a spreadsheet.

Thanks for the information. The PDF is not published as an image. Are there any PDF readers you can recommend? I will also try Libre Office

I found some software that can convert PDF to CSV but reluctant to purchase unless recommended by others on a forum

Adobe is the standard, but forum users seem to recommend Foxit – I use Foxit for that reason.
Given all current word processors will open PDF files I wouldn’t rush to buy anything.

I wonder why it seems more and more PDFs are being used when the data they contain needs to be edited or extracted at the other end because the conversion process usually has a variable but persistent error rate. In my mind these should all be encrypted zip files containing the original copies.
