Hello. I seem to have run into a problem with size adjustment on a PDF. I have a project size W: 3.5 in X H: 2 in. (business card)

    No matter what program I use to create a bleed box of .125 in., the project comes out altered to W: 3.63 X H: 2.13, instead of W: 3.625 X H: 2.125.

It is very frustrating as I have no idea why the measurements keep getting altered off size?

I have even started out with ‘new’ project to create a box with the dimensions of 3.625 X 2.125, upload the pdf to the new project, saved it and still, it comes out with the wrong dimensions.

I have access to Adobe Acrobat Pro 8, Adobe Photoshop CS2 and QuarkXpress 8. I know, ancient programs. I have also tried creating the bleed in Canva, using .125, only to have the saved copy come out with the wrong size of 3.63 X 2.13 as well.

    Any help is greatly appreciated!!!

Apparently many image and document creation software programs will frustrate the user including the free program The GIMP (image editor)!

After adjusting the pixels per inch setting, the finding is that setting the pixels per inch to one thousand (1,000) only will The GIMP let a Human have complete precision without rounding the numbers.

So with that result is there any setting (advanced) to change the pixels per inch, millimeter, points, or dots per inch in the Adobe programs or QuarkXpress8?

I appreciate the reply. Unfortunately, none of the software (6 different) resulted in a precise measurement, as all programs round up.

However, I may have found the solution. While I inquired to the printer yesterday by providing a sample, I was told that the numbers had been rounded up and therefore, not precise enough to print. However, today I downloaded their own template and in the document properties, they too have the numbers rounded up.

It’s been a crazy 4 day ride looking for a solution but I’m finally off this roller coaster.

Many thanks for your kind reply.
