I downloaded and installed the new version of PC Health Check and it won’t tell me if my system is win11 capable.  What I get is “your organization manages updates on this computer”.  Dunno quite what to do…

“your organization manages updates on this computer”

You get this notice due to changes you made to update settings/registry…
Open Windows Update page and under the same notice you can check the changes you applied.

You better run the free portable whynotwin11.

what version of Win10 are you running?
run winver.exe to display the edition & version of Windows 10

Update nobody will care about 🙂   I ran whynotwin11 and got all-green.  so I’m good to go.  and with the good news that I discovered that open-shell will work with win11 I’l a LOT less bothered about the update.  but I’m also in no rush, so maybe next year some time for me

I think this a MICROSOFT problem…a bug in Windows 10 21H1 as I was able to use PC Health Check with no problems UNTIL I UPGRADED TO Windows 10 Pro 21H1 in early October. Now, if I try to use it I get the error mentioned here and cannot use PC Health Check. Or it may be a bug in this LATEST version of PC Health Check as I had no problems using it when it was the earlier version. Oddly though, the earlier version is gone from this computer or I would try it again. I suppose the Microsoft Installer “helpfully” removed the older version when the new “improved” version was published and I downloaded it. (I supposedly still have the older versions of PC Health Check on my D drive but when I try any of them, only this latest version appears even though the dates for the older versions listed in Windows Explorer is back in August and early September).

I don’t need to run it as I know this computer qualifies for Windows 11 upgrade but it is irritating to get that message in this current version of PC Health Check when I did not get that in the earlier version …the one before Microsoft pulled it for some time to “improve” it. The current version has glaring bugs ….like it says my computer is two years old. The older version had that detail correct (my computer will be FOUR YEARS OLD in December).

I don’t trust it as if it can’t even determine the age of this computer why would I believe anything else it says (if I could run it)?

The first version was buggy and did explain why a PC wasn’t Windows 11 compatible and so has been pulled.
The current version checks for Windows Update changes in GPEdit/registry and won’t run if there are any, with ‘*Some settings are managed by your organization’ message.
Remove the changes and the app will run.
