I updated my iPhone XR and my Apple watch series 5 a couple of hours ago. Update was fast and no problems encountered.

As mentioned in another thread (  AKB2000014  ), I updated today my Mac running Big Sur to 11.6.2, with all those security patches listed in Susan’s blog, and more.

Only difference worth noticing with how things function now compared now and before patching:

My two email clients (Apple Mail and Thunderbird) will no longer connect with the Sendgrid links to comments posted in AskWoody Forums I subscribe to.

Can you describe what you mean?  Do you get an error message?

Are you recommending updating from 14.8.1 to 15 latest? Seems I lose somethings if so. Have you heard of issues?

      • #2406221

The normal “I lost my passwords to the site” that comes after major updates in the apps, but that’s normal.

I am not suggesting updating from IOS 14.x and IPAD 14.x since those are both still receiving security updates.  The only reason you would want to go to IOS 15.x and IPAD 15.x is if you want new features.  There are “potential” CSAM issues with latest versions that have not yet been implemented but still for those like me who remain cautious I will stay with the older version of Apple Mobile Operating System for now.  Edward Snowden has mentioned as well as Gordon Kelly from Forbes.  Just do a search for CSAM and Apple and you will understand especially how foreign governments planned to misuse this technology to spy on people.

I and running iOS and iPadOS 15.2 betas (and WatchOS 8.3) for weeks. 0 problems.

This is in answer to a question Susan asked here #2406222 :

Susan, the links in the messages from AskWoody were dead, dead, dead as far as my getting anywhere by clicking on them both when I did that in Thunderbird and in Apple Mail,

      Developing situation:

A while ago I tried again with a message in Mail and, lo and behold, the link worked and I ended up in a page started by Alex with a comment early today.

I have not been able to see if things are back to normal with TB, because I deleted all the messages with non-functioning links. Tomorrow I expect there will be more of those messages with links to comments here, so then I’ll try these and we’ll see what happens.

There are no “potential” CSAM issues in 15.2 and NO, foreign governments are not planning to misuse this technology to spy on people.

CSAM is running for years on every cloud service including Apple, Microsoft, Google, Twitter, Facebook… and no government had misuse this technology to spy on people.

      This is just FUD.
