Patch reliability is unclear, but widespread attacks make patching prudent. Go ahead and patch, but watch out for potential problems. |
Start of the week July 9th, turned on Dell Desktop 64 bit and boot stops at Windows Logo while starting.
Startup Repair reports no repair and cause “A patch prevented the system from starting” error code 0x490″.
Restore shows only one dated 6/27/12 8PM. Restore shows “did not complete – unspecified error 0x80070067”.
Boot from Windows 7 Installation DVD is OK, but if possible we do not want to have to do complete re-install.
