“Solution in late August”… hope it appears before the DejaBlue exploits arrive.

      Grumble grumble.

you will need to Check for updates to receive the update once it is released.

With all the perils that brings!

      https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4517297/windows-7-update-kb4517297

Note: This update contains all the quality and security changes in KB4512486 (released August 16, 2019). While it does not replace KB4512486 on Windows Update, if you install this update you do not need to install KB4512486.

      I liked the professional note

Does this contain the telemetry from last month?

    • #1909218

maybe the DEFCON level should be at “1” instead of “2” due to these Aug. 2019 patches causing VBA errors

edit: it looks like MS only fixed the VBA problem for just Win10 v1709 with KB4512494. though new Win7 & 8.1 patches are coming in lately such as KB4517297 for Win7 and KB4517298 for Win8.1 that include the VBA fixes. gosh!

Updates for the same OS but for both architectures should be counted once 😀

e.g. these two are one count 😀

For the “DEFCON 1,” let’s see how badly tangled the patches-of-patches become.
