Does this impact Office 365…I’m showing Build 8431.2242, dated 4/10 using the semi-annual channel.

      • #187472

I am using Office 365, and I am able to open and save Excel spreadsheets with charts embedded without crashes.

Patch Lady, I am so glad that you are here. I simply wanted to say that.

I still have this month’s Office 2010 patches to install and am awaiting general clearance on April’s updates via the DefCon rating, but it would seem that they are unaffected by these issues. I assume that’s correct?

I did NOT INSTALL MARCH but DID ALL of April, incl’ing (7) 32-bit Office 2010-Excel-Access-Outlook members (Outlook shows/not available to use). Unit seems as fast as ever (i5 8G Sandy Bridge).

I DID FIRST install Kb 4099950 (requ’d B4 March Rollup inst had I done it/did it here in case), THEN Kb4093118 APRIL Rollup, then the others in 3 separate Updates.

InSpctre.exe even shows Meltdown protection now. Feeling Only half-naked now is wonderful.

Just to clarify my previous comment, it’s only the Office 2010 updates I am sitting on for general April clearance, the main updates were installed earlier this week after the announcement about the Total Meltdown exploit. I’ve therefore installed KBs 4100480 and 4093118 plus the MSRT on two Windows 7 x64 home desktops, without any issues arising. I only installed the MSRT and (checked) Office 2010 updates in March.

Hi, I have Office 2013 with CTR. I disable Office updates until Woody gives the all clear to update; and then I update Office and turn it back off. I don’t know think the KB4018288 for Office 2013 will affect me, but wasn’t sure. I wanted to update Office since Woody moved to Defcon 3, but once I update it, there’s no way to uninstall this possibly problematic update, correct? (There’s no way to view or uninstall individual Office updates with CTR, is there?)

So, is ok to update Office? Thanks for any help!

@sb Hi Susan, earlier you said “Click to Run – I’m still investigating if [Office issues with April updates] impact you.”

So do you know yet if this is impacting Click-to-Run as well? Thanks

Never mind, too late. Time to turn on auto update temporarily and quickly install April’s C2R updates before the May’s non-sec updates are rolled out here across the ocean….

Edit: Just in time. Am now updated to April’s 1804 version.
