Every time I paste some text into a text box , powerpoint defaults the text format to the initial default properties. An icon remains by the pasted text, which allows to select preserving the original copied text properties. I find this time consuming and would like to turn that feature off (at least for a while). I would like to paste or append the text to the pre-existing text with the original font propeties preserved without having to do anything else.

AskWoody LoungerApril 24, 2004 at 9:48 am #819319There are many of us who would like to be able to set the default behavior of the Paste Options, Guillermo. Alas, it cannot be done.
I would encourage you to let MS know that it’s important for future versions of PPT to include this capability.
As John Langhans, MS Supportability Program Manager, Microsoft Office PowerPoint for Windows, often posts in the MS PPT newsgroup:
If you (or anyone else reading this message) think that it’s important that PowerPoint provide this kind of functionality, don’t forget to send your feedback in YOUR OWN WORDS, please) to Microsoft at:http://register.microsoft.com/mswish/suggestion.asp%5B/url%5D
It’s VERY important that, for EACH wish, you describe in detail, WHY it is important TO YOU that your product suggestion be implemented. A good wish submssion includes WHAT scenario, work-flow, or end-result is blocked by not having a specific feature, HOW MUCH time and effort ($$$) is spent working around a specific limitation of the current product, etc. Remember that Microsoft receives THOUSANDS of product suggestions every day and we
read each one but, in any given product development cycle, there are ONLY sufficient resources to address the ones that are MOST IMPORTANT to our
customers so take the extra time to state your case as CLEARLY and COMPLETELY as possible so that we can FEEL YOUR PAIN.IMPORTANT: Each submission should be a single suggestion (not a list of suggestions).

AskWoody LoungerApril 26, 2004 at 10:36 am #819774Thank you for your reply and suggestion.
Done…:
Set the default behavior of the Paste Options: Every time I paste some text into a text box , powerpoint defaults the text format to the initial default properties. An icon remains by the pasted text, which allows to select preserving the original copied text properties. I find this time consuming and would like to turn that feature off (at least for a while). I would like to paste or append the text to the pre-existing text with the original font propeties preserved, without having to do anything else.
Improving this feature would result in saving time doing repetitious copy/cut and paste, improved effectiveness and ease of use. Also less risk for RSI and eye strain.
