Is it possible to get Outlook 2003 to default to paste text only whenever pasting text into emails, contacts, etc.? I’m looking for a shortcut around Edit | Paste Special | Text only, since I ALWAYS paste text only and want the program to paste text only by default and force me to have to go through the Paste Special menu if I want to paste more than text.

Replies

Compared with, say, Word, Outlook 2003 is not very programmable. We didn’t find a solution for this in 2005 (see Macro for ‘Paste Special?’ (2003)), but perhaps someone can take a fresh look.

I was able to get it to work in Outlook 2007. I can’t remember exactly what I did, but somewhere in options I think, I selected a default for pasting so that emails, contacts, etc. would receive Text Only when I paste material. I am wondering if I can get this to work in Outlook 2003. I can’t find the option.

Word 2007 has an entirely different editor than Word 2003, so the options look quite different…
