Pasting text only in Office Apps has been a roller coaster with the keyboard shortcut (Ctrl + Shift + V) reintroduced in MS 365 Word and then to other versions of Office Word. Add to that the many versions of Classic Outlook and the New Outlook it is easy to see different instructions on how to paste text only in Outlook. I can’t speak from personal experience about other Outlooks but in my Classic Outlook from Office 2019 C2R the Ctrl + Shift + V shortcut does not work, but there is no need for that keyboard shortcut in Outlook because Outlook already has keyboard shortcuts that provides that same paste text without formatting function.
I do not know if these keyboard shortcuts in Classic Outlook are in the New Outlook, so this may not work for the New Outlook.
To Paste Text Only in Outlook
In the opened email paste the copied text using the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + V.
This will paste the text with its original formatting.
Before entering any other keys press the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + Space (Ctrl key and Space bar).
The Ctrl + Space shortcut will convert the just pasted text to text only and will use the formatting set in the email at that point.
BTW: The above doesn’t work in Word or other Office apps.
