Password Projected Sharer Files in a Master Projec (2003)

Help – We currently have over 2 thousand Projects and 7 different Resource pools. We export data from those Projects into Excel by opening the resource pools and then opening the sharer files (over 2 thousand)into Master Projects and then saving them as an Excel spreadsheet. Here’s my problem – I need to password protect the sharer files so only people with the password can make updates to the projects; all others can only view them. My problem is that when I open these files into the Master Project file in order to export them into Excel I am prompted for the password for all 2 thousand files. Any ay around this? I need to complete this over the weekend so all suggestions are welcome. Thanks!!!

Are you on a network? You might work with your LAN administrator to control permissions through netowrk security.

Thanks for the suggestion Carla – yes, we are on a network and I have been trying for what seems like forever to get the network administrator to do this – they just won’t budge….
