    Hi,

I used to work with Excel 97. Using the Invoice.xlt as a base it was possible to modify this template to what I needed.

Switching to Excel 2000 is great, but when I want to modify the Invoice.xlt it starts asking for a password!
I bought Office 2000, so it is mine!

Does anybody know the password or another way to change the invoice.xlt template in Excel 2000?

you bought the right to use office. the person who made the template still owns it but is allowing you to use it.

i don’t know if there might be a different invoice template that might be editable, look on the office templates site (linked from http://www.officeupdate.com[/url%5D) or try http://www.j-walk.com[/url%5Dfor other excel sites that might have one you can work from.

        Hi Bart:

I just tried modifying invoice.xlt in Office Pro 2000 & had no problem. Actually, I made a copy & then modified the copy. The sheet is protected so you have to go to Tools/Protection & unprotect the sheet, but otherwise it would work. I didn’t get a password prompt. Did you get the invoice.xlt from Office 2000? All of the templates that I’ve seen with Office products can be modified, although I admit I’ve only used a fraction of the available ones.

The macros in invoice.xlt are password protected because MSFT doesn’t want you to see the code.
