Does Access 2003 user-level security employ password encryption? I assume it does… Also, when the user enters their password into the logon form, is it encrypted before being transmitted to the system (I don’t think this is the same question)?

    Thanks.

I don’t think user-level security has anything to do with encryption. It is possible to set up a database in such a way that it can be used with both a secured workgroup file and with an unsecured workgroup file.

In a secured database, the login is handled by Access and the underlying Jet Engine. I’m not sure what you mean by the password being encrypted beforw being transmitted to the “system”.
