Has anyone experience of their new Backup & Recovery 10 Free Edition software and how easy it is to use? I have used the version 9 (only for backup and not restore) and wonder if Paragon’s new version is worth downloading.
    Thanks in advance

      Hello RonH,
I tried B&R 10 (paragon) just for fun and it works, albeit very basic. Didn’t like some of the screens (GUI) seemed to me to be a bit confusing. Guess im just used to Acronis TI -11 (8101) Didn’t like Acronis 2009 either and switched back to v-11. (“old dog new blah, blah”) If you can, try out TI-11 (8101) , (if you can still get it) it works for me on my HP Pavilion Desk top Have done probably at least 50 or more recoveries. (lost track ) ” Vista home premium” SP-1 (just switched back from SP-2) didn’t like that either !!! A good backup program is well worth every $$$$ . Lets you”fool” with your “PC” to no end! Regards

G’day and thanks for your input. Reads as if you are a true expert on pc’s … 50+ recoveries must mean a lot of experimentation! I am a ‘keep it simple’ retired folk ’cause I don’t have the pc skills to play with heavy duty stuff and you don’t have a lot of spare time when you retire … true!
I will do a check out but since the Paragon 9 works … well at least I can do a back up! … maybe I should stick with it. Just because there is a new version doesn’t mean that the old is broken. Bit like you and your Acronis TI-11 marriage I guess. Might ask Paragon why their newey is better … I think its only been released recently.
        Thanks again

          Ron,
Hello again. Not an expert at all. Two and a half years with my first “PC”,….. but the way i learn is to try all sorts of stuff on my “PC” and because i have complete confidence in my back up program i am not afraid to do anything! I Routinely crash it fooling with and deleting parts of the “OS” (50 is a very conservative number) More like1 or 2 recoveries a week. I will post a thread about “ditching ” all “Micro Squish” updates and how and why i reverted back to Pre SP-1 and clicked “Never check for Updates” (done with all that ) like a cat chasing it’s own tail in my not so humble opinion. Regards

I reckon you are very brave … don’t think my stress levels could handle such! Might have a go at ‘walkabout’ on this laptop once I have a new standby available!
