I had to send my hearing aids in for repairs and they came back with all new guts, which unpaired them from my computer. My current audiologist only knows how to do it by letting Windows do it. That’s my situation, too, and I don’t have or want an MS account. Can someone walk me through the steps? I have an up-to-date Win 10 computer and my hearing aids are already paired with my phone. If pairing the hearing aids with my computer will now (i.e., the latest Win 10 update) unpair the phone, then I’ll leave things the way they are.

    TIA

Please consider taking your hearing devices to your audiologist for the correct settings.

Your audiologist knows the correct settings, has the equipment for it, and can work with you.

      Hearing devices are medical equipment.

I already said she doesn’t know how to do it. She knows hearing aids, but she happens to be a Mac user so knows nothing about esoteric Windows settings.

I managed to pair a keyboard without an MS account, so the hearing aids should work.

      Go to Setting > Devices.
Click Add Bluetooth or other device.
      Follow the prompts.

      cheers, Paul

That was my first attempt and it didn’t get anywhere. I called my local indep. computer shop and they said bring in the computer and they would try. They also said it could take up to 45 min, because none of the employees happen to need hearing aids, so I would be a learning experience for them!

I have an up-to-date Win 10 computer and my hearing aids are already paired with my phone.

I currently have a pair of hearing aids with a 5-year warranty period, which expires next year.
I’ll be considering to buy a new pair of digital ears with bleutooth feature.

I’m very interested in all experiences about pairing hearing aids with other digital devices.

Please do report about all successes, and any failures too, that you achieve.

First check your bluetooth devices and make sure your hearing aids are removed from the list.

If/when they are your hearing aid manufacturer should be able to provide instructions. My Kirkland hearing aids just need to have the right aid battery door opened and then closed to be discovered and paired.

My experience is not nearly so positive, but a lot of that is due to unrelated hearing aid problems. My “ears” kept getting unpaired from my phone because every time I went to the audiologist with a repeat complaint, the tech unpaired the hearing aids while trying to figure out what was going on this time, and if I didn’t remember to remind him to re-pair them, I’d get home and then discover they’re no longer paired.

This morning I had a pleasant surprise: the hearing aids were unpaired yet again from something I did yesterday, and for some reason I opened the MyPhonak app. and the first thing it did was re-pair the aids to the phone. And my audiologist never told me about the app! I found it last year when I was looking for something else in the Google Play Store. The app gives me a lot of control over the aids without having to go see the audiologist, but the app is specific to Phonak hearing aids. When you’re getting your new ones, ask about an app and ask also for a session to teach you how to use it.
