Outlook now needs me press enter to Search People

OL16, installed as part of Office 16.  win10 22H2

on this computer Ol, not getting all the attention it thinks it needs, now wants me to press “enter” to activate a search in the “search people” in task bar.

Normal behavior is to search while typing.

My other computer doesn’t have this flaw (yet).

Any ideas about what is causing it?

Try Outlook Options, Search, Results, When possible, display results as the query is typed.

I neglected to include that as something i’ve already tried.  as well as unchecking and rechecking.

When strange things happen in Outlook and can’t be corrected by normal means you may need to create a new email profile.

the problem inexplicably resolved itself.   suddenly people search was happening without hitting enter.

However, to resolve the issue about Outlook not being able to remember exchange password, I installed Office 2021.  needing ‘enter’ to activate people search has returned.   maybe it will magically resolve itself, also.  some time.
