I was reading my mail in OE just before supper. When I came back less than 2 hrs later, and clicked on the icon for email on my desktop, I got an opening window for
Outlook, which I have never used. So I went to program files and clicked on Outlook express , but in that folder, I didn’t see anything that looked like the .exe . There were some dll files, but I could see no way of turning on the program.
If I try using Outlook, I won’t be able to view my fresh and filed emails. Any suggestions?

If you go to Start>Run and type msimn.exe. Hit enter. Outlook Express should come up.

Or you can right click on the desktop, Select New, Shortcut, and then browse to locate Outlook Express’s .exe file. It’s not obvious, but it’s msimn.exe (meaning Microsoft Internet Mail and News – Outlook Express’s old name), and is most likely in C:program filesoutlook express.

It is OK. I went to system restore and all is normal again. I can’t understand how it happpened . It almost looked as
if A newly downloaded Microsoft outlokk had appeared.

If your Microsoft Office has been updated (while you were away) automatically, then MS is the culprit.During most Office updates Microsoft automatically designates Outlook as your e-mail program. You should check in Internet Explorer -> Properties -> Programs your proper setup.

I guess that’s what happened. Off late, when I go to shut down, I am given the choice of downloading updates or turning off without doing it. Somedays there have been as many as 5,
even 20 one day. So there are proably more than just windows updates.
