    Hi all,

Today I installed OE 5.5(I think). Everything looks the same as the old one pretty much with the exception that now I have some sort of pane about 1/7th or so the height of the screen which has non moveable borders and could only be called an “advertising pane”. It has small links to MSN stuff and various other advertising which seems to be MS related.

I have checked all of the customizeable settings and even the internet options, but I do not see anywhere that this can be removed. Any ideas?

    Thanks,

it can’t be removed – it’s one of the benefits of using a free mail service smile

      alternatives:
      1) don’t use hotmail
      2) don’t use full screen and slide the pane under the taskbar. (it’s annoying if you use pop mail too, you need to pull it back up)
      3) use find to find all new mail and read from there. you need to open the mail instead of using preview. leave express on the welcome page.

        Hi Mary,

Thanks for the info….I really wasn’t aware that this was happening only when in the hotmail folders. When I go to the local inbox, there is no “extra” pane. Not really a crisis or anything, guess I woke up one day and said “Wow, was this here yesterday?” Anyway, thanks a bunch.
