I have spent at least 90 minutes looking for something to download that will import into my Outlook 2019 calendar to remind me in advance of time changes.  I quit watching news on TV years ago.  I have subscribed to webinars, and afterward they offer a download of an ICS file to import into your calendar that adds calendar appointments for the correct date/time of the webinar(s).

I am NOT asking how to set the time zone of my computer.   I don’t want to make a custom calendar to print or download.

Perhaps I am clueless for the proper search terms.  I usually use DuckDuckGo for my searches.  Have tried Google as well.

Closest thing I have found is US Holidays at http://www.fastertechnologies.com/us-government-holidays-ics.html where you download an ICS file.  It includes DST changes along with holidays I couldn’t care less about.

Found this site with holiday listings for each state or country.  Download an ICS file.  http://holidays.kayaposoft.com/ but no Daylight Saving Time reminders.

If you want to take the time the .ci file is just a text file. You can download it and change it using Notepad. Just make sure you save it as a .ics file when you are ready.

Perhaps I’m not understanding your request, but wouldn’t it be easier to just create the appointments in your calendar yourself?

I don’t know what country you’re in, but WikiPedia lists the following dates for the United States:

      DST

It shouldn’t take more than a few minutes to create the reminders you need.

I found a website that you can use to generate an ICS file.  https://ical.marudot.com/  I entered all the spring dates for 2020 through 2029.  Only had to change the year each time.  Then I entered all the fall dates, again only having to change the year each time.  Downloaded ICS file.  In the screenshot, you can see the buttons on the right.  Duplicate button copies the one you click on to another.  Just go in and change the year.

Tried to attach the ICS file I generated.  Error said file type not allowed.

Paste the file contents between <CODE></CODE> tags – assuming it’s not too big.

I don’t know whether this degree of precision matters to you, but I shall point it out.  The change to DST occurs at 02:00 local time in the time zone in question.  For this reason, times in the time zones in the US are uncoordinated until the night of the change is over as the time change ripples across the country.  By contrast, the EU changes at 01:00 UTC in all EU countries.

ScotchJohn thanks for the information.  I did not know that.  For my purposes I just want a reminder to come up prior to the night of the change.  My father in law passed some 10 years ago.  He was always our reminder.  He kept up with such things and let the family know.  So I never worried about it back then.

Appreciate everyone’s input and contribution to this topic.  I am aware I spent far more time on this than if I had just obtained the list of dates and manually entered them in my calendar.  I wanted to learn more about how the ICS files worked, and I did.  That knowledge may never be of benefit, but I have it.  I enjoy learning.

In the U.S., DST begins at 2am on the second Sunday in March and ends at 2am on the first Sunday in November.

Add a single reminder for the next DST start/end and set them to recur yearly on the respective days.
