I have just rebuilt my system with a new hard disk, previously I was able to cut and paste pictures into e-mail using Outlook 97 and send them as pictures, now the recipients receive the pictures as “pictures” but the copy I send to myself comes back MIME encoded.
Would appreciate any replies, BTW when I send Bcc mail I send the original to myself to protect all identies.

    Thanking all in advance.

I’m not quite sure i fully understand what you mean. Are hte pictures you get back wrapped in a winmail.dat or is something else wrong?

BTW – inserting saved jpgs instead of pasting results in a much smaller file size and much smaller transmission time. Recieptents with slow modems or who are nearing their mailbox quota will love you for it.

Thanks for the reply, the pictures come back with a MIME heading, I have cut portion of the message, I used to use a program called ESSCODE to deciper these message, what has me bewildered is why has my setting changed from receiving the graphic to MIME. In this case the message and photograph was relative to my mother who passed on on Jan 13th. to my sister who does not understand computers, normally I do send the file as you suggest. There is obviously a setting in Outlook 97 that has been reset to the default after my rebuild.

        Thanking you
