I’ve just removed an old version of Winfax from my computer but can’t get rid of the Winfax buttons from my Outlook toolbar. I didn’t want them there in the first place but I’m stuck with them. I’ve searched thro the registry with no luck and my FAV file has no effect.

Does anyone know the way to rid me of these buttons. Please!!

If you right click anywhere in a blank area of the menubar or toolbar and select Customize, you should be able to click on any of the unwanted buttons and drag them off the toolbar. Then close the Customize dialogue box.

Thanks John but I’ve already checked that. It only works on Outlook buttons these Winfax buttons won’t budge.

Is it possible that WinFax still is loading as an add-in? You can check your add-in and COM Add-in lists using Tools>Options>Other>Advanced Options.

If WinFax is not still loading itself, does it have its own toolbar that can be deleted in its entirety?

If not, there is an option to “reset” the menu bar or any toolbar, on the Toolbars tab of the Customize dialog. Can you flush the icons using Reset?

(By the way, the FAV file is for the “Outlook bar,” the vertical bar of small or large icons that you can display to the left of the Folder list. If WinFax has insinuated itself into this area, renaming your FAV file should take care of it.)

That did the trick. Thanks alot.
I can’t believe I didn’t think to look at that. I’ve spent ages sifting through the registry!
        Thanks again.
