outlook (2000)

I tried to import into Contacts a vcard file and got the following message:
“The specified file “c:tempxxx.vcf” is not valid for this operation.”
I have been able to import other vcf files. When I double click on the file in explorer it brings up an outlook viewer screen, so it looks to me like the file is ok.

what happens if you hit save, will it save to outlook? can you drag from the temp folder and drop in the contacts folder ok?

where did the vcard come from and do others from the same source work? there is a problem with early builds of outlook 2000, http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/ar…s/q212/9/93.asp

If I have multiple PSTs, is there a “primary” PST?

Regular Windows commands (such as save, save as, copy and paste) have surprising (to me) effects in Outlook and related (e. g., explorer .vcf) environments which are not covered in the Outlook textbooks that I have read. The file structure contained within the pst is also unusual, but that is because outlook manages its own “hierarchy”. I’m learning more and more each day about outlook’s quirks

the pst with Outlook Today in it is the primary (or default) one – it’s also the one where mail is delivered to.
