Each and every morning, I send my daily calendar from my company laptop to my personal laptop, where I sync it with my crackberry. If I have an invitation in my calendar and go to sync I get an error message. I talked to blackberry about this and we created a log to see what calendar item was causing this. The fix, was to delete all Calendar entries using their desktop manage under Backup and Restore, then Advanced. While this works, it is extremely annoying to have to do this. I fired off an e-mail to their support, actually I just replied to keep the thread alive to see if they had figured out why this is happening. In the meantime I thought I would check here to see if anyone else is having this problem and see what you may be doing about it if you are.

could be a permissions issue, if its not a corporate handset, and your not using a BES server to auto-manage these updates. How are you copying your calendar down to your personal laptop (PST export?). Normally you need to break the wireless default setup for contacts/calendar synch and set it to manual only, so you can use the DM program to run the synch. Mailbox should always be the winner, so the data stays on the Outlook client and a copy is put on the handset.

also make sure you have the latest DM installed, v5.01 is currently available, and also helps if you handset firmware is up to date.

      Thanks for the reply Ian.
I contacted RIM again because this seems to be an ongoing issue and as I suspected RIM is aware of the problem. According to them an invitation that includes any type of graphic say a company logo etc. and certain other items that I dont remember now will cause this problem and also according to them it is all in the Intelisync software that they are using. Nothing like passing the buck.
Regardless I was smart enough to write down the resolution for this when it first came up which was the first time I synced the phone. Their alternate work around was to send my calendar to myself as a .pst file instead of the .ics file. Yea, like that is going to happen. So I will just have to keep doing what I am doing currently.
And No I do not sync it with a server.
