I do not have the “Out of Office Assistant” menu selection in the Tools menu when logged in as myself. If others use my machine logged into a different account, they can see this menu pick. Can anyone tell me why this menu item is being masked out?

    Thanks,

    Andy

Are you logged into an exchange server mailbox? Are you using the mailbox or a pst as your delivery location? it only works on mailboxes.

Yes, I am logged into an echange server mailbox, and the mail is being delivered to the mailbox and not being forwarded to a pst file.

        Thanks

are you using full menus or the silly smart menu feature? Try tools, customize and reset the menu bar.

also, tools, options, other advanced, addins. is deleted item recovery installed and enabled?

In addition to MJ’s suggestions I want to point out something simple in case you missed it: the Out-of-Office menu is context sensitive; it only displays when an e-mail folder is selected.

Also, did I understand you to say that the menu shows when other people use your computer, but not when you use it? Are there multiple people using this single computer with differing profiles? If so, with -your- profile activated, have you gone into Tools | Options | Other | Advanced Options | Add-in Manager and activated Exchange Extensions Commands?

            Thanks John!

This is my machine, but it is in a large network where others can log in. The person that logged in was an IT person that was checking things out. Going into the Add-in Manager and activating Exchange Extension Commands solved the problem.

            Thanks again!
