Out of Office Assistant sends an an OoO reply only once to each sender. Is it possible for the OoO Assistant to send a reply everytime. One of our secretaries is going on leave for 6 weeks and I can’t see anyone remembering 2 weeks from now that she is away. (We have over 1,000 users).

Any help would be greatly appreciated

In Outlook XP you can use a rule to do this. Go to Tools > Rules Wizard

I thought it sent one per day per sender? Not sure where I got that idea.

If you do need to use the Rules Wizard, Microsoft has two articles that might be useful (one for each “mode” of Outlook 2000):

Microsoft Knowledge Base Article 260987 OL2000: (CW) How to Emulate the Out Of Office Assistant
Microsoft Knowledge Base Article 248830 OL2000: (IMO) How to Emulate the Out Of Office Assistant

And here’s one for Outlook XP:

        Thanks for your help

I have passed the information on to the secretary in charge of that department. She doesn’t have a problem with resetting the session each morning.

If someone is going away for an extended period, like 6 weeks, is it possible for reply to be continually sent each time a message is sent to that person?

        The knowledge base article says:

“The Rules Wizard rule to ‘reply using a specific template’ is designed to send the reply only once to each sender during a session. This prevents Outlook from sending repetitive replies to a sender from whom you receive multiple messages.”

        Thanks
