I just installed the windows xp and wondering that I should install the original video card and sound card softwares? The video card and sound card are recognized by the xp and work so far. Any difference between two situations?

In “chronological” order, one would assume that XP probably has more recent drivers than your ORIGINALS, although you didn’t say how old the drivers are. I’d tend to go with the ones packaged with XP, especially if the devices are correctly recognized. Wouldn’t hurt to check the manufacturer’s web sites to see if there are even newer versions. Going backwards isn’t such a good idea.

I definitely recommend that you check the manufacturer’s web sites for the latest drivers. Typically, you’ll find that the latest manufacturer’s drivers include performance and stability enhancements that might not be present in the Windows drivers.
