Is there any reason to install optional updates?  Having read about the problems with KB4535996, which was presented to me as optional, I skipped it and had none of the reported problems.  Now I am presented with KB4541335.  Looking at MS’s documentation at https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4541335/windows-10-update-kb4541335, I see no issue that affects me, so I’m going to skip this one as well.  Is there any downside to skipping an optional update?

We recommend only installing the Security Updates issued on Patch Tuesday, with few exceptions (KB4551762 issued on 3/12, two days after Patch Tues on 3/10 being one of the few exceptions).
The updates released on C. D, and E week are non-security Optional installs. We recommend not installing them.

Many Thanks to PKCano for this very clear advice, especially since I have tried to install this update and got an error reply ( Erreur 0x800f0922 ) which gave me goose-skin…

        Thanks for all your Help

I always skip optional updates and driver updates, unless I have a specific reason to install one of those types of updates.
